1. Go to the User permissions object settings panel.
2. Select the Archive group in the Main tab.

3. Set the Allow viewing hidden archive check box checkbox in order for an Operator with these rights to be able to view a hidden archive (1). 
4. Set the Allow checking "hidden" archive check box checkbox in order for the Operator to be able to hide archive entries  (2).
   
5. Set the Allow unchecking "hidden" archive check box checkbox in order for the Operator to be able to unhide archive entries (3).
   
6. Click Apply (4).
