To install the Axxon One VMS, run the Setup.exe file with administrator rightsexecutable file from the distribution package as Windows OS administrator.

The following three types of installations installation are available when installing Axxon One to a personal computer:

  1. Client – this type of installation is used for installing the software's user interfaces, which enable any user installs only the Client that allows the user to connect to any server within a single security system and to Server and perform administration/management/monitoring of a the guarded location object based on the permissions granted by the administrator.

  2. Server and Client – installs the Client and the Server services. The Axxon One Server: 

    1. interacts with the devices (video cameras, microphones, sensors, relays, etc.) that constitute a the security system;

    2. writes video footage to archives on system disks; interacts with stores the archive data on its own storage space and interacts with the archives on NAS;

    3. hosts VMDA database;

    4. employs detection tools to analyze live video;

    5. stores the events and object tracks databases;

    6. analyzes the incoming video image using the detection tools;

    7. stores the keeps configurations of the security system, user settings, custom layouts created in the system, macros, etc.

  3. Failover Server and Client − installs the Client and the Server services enhanced with the Failover capabilitytechnology. In emergency situations (Server power outage, network problemsconnection loss), the configuration of the Server with the Failover technology restores the server configuration will be restored on another serverServer of the system.

The following required When installing the Server, the following software is installed , if necessaryamong the prerequisites:

  1. PostgreSQL 9.2.2 server database. If an older version of PostgreSQL is installed, it is updated to version 9.2.2. database server. A new log database is automatically created (with the name : – ngp, user name: the username – ngp, and the password : – ngp).
  2. .NET Framework 2.0, .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 4.0.
  3. Acrobat Reader , which that is necessary for exporting in PDF format and printing freeze frames (see Frame export).VLC Player. The VideoLan folder, in the Axxon One installation folder, contains the file VLC.exe, which is a version of the VLC Player that can be run from any connected disk without installation. This file can be used to view exported archive videoto export the frames into the PDF format and print them.
