1. Unpack the installation kit as described in Getting ready for Axxon PSIM installation; the destination folder will show the contents of the kit.
   

2. Run the setup.exe file to start the Axxon PSIM™ software installation procedure.
   As a result the dialog box of choosing language is displayed.

   The notification box is displayed if Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0 has not been installed. Click Yes for Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0 auto installation.

   title Attention!
   When Axxon PSIM™ is installed on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 OS, the Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0 or later is to be pre-installed. If the Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0 or later has not been installed, then the warning is displayed. In this case stop installing Axxon PSIM™ and install the Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0 or later. You will find the instructions on how to install it at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/hh506443.aspx

   
   

3. Choose the language of Axxon PSIM™ software installation and click Install.
   
   As a result the Type of installation dialog box is displayed.
   
4. Select the Workplace Workstation for monitoring type of installation.

5. To log all installation events, set the Enable full installation log checkbox.

   While installing and uninstalling the software events are logged to psim.log and Axxon PSIM uninstall.log correspondingly. To collect log-files, the “Support.exe” tool is to be used (see The utility for collecting configuration data on servers and RWS for the Technical Support section).

   
   

6. Click the Next button.
   The Selecting components for installation dialog box is displayed.
   

7. Set the checkboxes next to the components that are to be installed.

   All offered components are recommended to be installed.

   Click the Install button.
   Necessary prerequisites auto installation will be performed.
   

   Note
   title Attention!
   Auto installation of necessary prerequisites may require more than 10 minutes.

   
   After this the Welcome to the Axxon PSIM Setup Wizard box is displayed.
   

8. Click the Next button.
   The License Agreement dialog box is displayed.
   
9. Read the License agreement and accept its terms by setting the switch into the I accept the terms of the License agreement position, otherwise the Axxon PSIM™ installation will be stopped.
10. Click the Next button.
    The dialog box of installation mode selection is displayed.
    
11. Select the installation mode.

12. Click the Next button.

    When the Custom installation mode is selected, the dialog box of choosing the installation folder is displayed. This step is omitted when the Standard installation mode is selected.

    

    The Advanced settings dialog box is displayed.
    

13. If a desktop icon is to be created, set the corresponding checkbox.
14. If a quick launch icon is to be created, set the corresponding checkbox.

15. Click the Next button.
    The Ready to install dialog box is displayed.

    To change the setting, click the Back button.

    
    

16. Click the Install button.
    The Installing Axxon PSIM dialog box is displayed.
    
17. The Installation Complete dialog box is displayed.
    
18. Set the Explore new ways for building your solutions checkbox, to view the document containing information about new features of the installed Axxon PSIM.
19. Click the Finish button.
    Then the Installation wizard dialog box is displayed, containing the information on the mode (installed or not) of Axxon PSIM components.
    
20. Click the Finish button.
