Image requirements for the Face Detection VL and its sub-tools

Requirements for the operation of the Face Detection VL and its sub-tools are given in the table:

Camera
  • FPS is at least 12. For face recognition at turnstiles, FPS is at least 6
Lighting
  • Faces must be evenly illuminated with diffused light of at least 200 lux. Directional side lighting isn't allowed
  • Contrast of the captured faces must be over 64 grayscale
  • Insufficient or excessive lighting isn't allowed
  • There must be no backlighting and sharp gradients of light and shade
Scene and camera angle
  • Maximum angle of frontal perspective of the photos of people’s faces received from cameras must not exceed +/- 15°
  • Mutual faces overlapping must be minimal
