Important to know before updating Axxon PSIM:

1. Before updating, we recommend you to back up all databases that you use—see Creating the database backup copy. Also, copy and save the psim.sec license file (located in the root of the Axxon PSIM installation directory, by default: C:\Program Files/Axxon PSIM).
2. Axxon PSIM can be updated if there is a difference in the third digit of the version number and the first two digits are the same. If the first and/or second digits are different, you must reinstall Axxon PSIM instead of updating, i.e. uninstall the previous version and install the new one.
   Examples:
   
   1. you can update from version 1.0.1 to version 1.0.2;
   2. you cannot update from version 1.0.1 to 1.2.0, you need to reinstall.
3. Before starting the update, Axxon PSIM must be uploaded, if it is running.
4. You must run the update as Windows Administrator.
5. When you update Axxon PSIM on the Server or Remote Administrator’s workstation, you should also update Axxon PSIM on Remote Client. The compatible versions of Axxon PSIM should be installed on Remote Clients and on Server/Remote Administrator’s workstation, i.e. the first two digits of the version number should be the same (e.g. versions 12.1 and 12.2 aren't compatible, but versions 12.0.1 and 12.0.3 are compatible).
