If you’re getting "Database is not set in connection settings" when running the database connection error is displayed when you start Axxon PSIM, you must check the following aspects:

  1. Run the idb.exe database update utility (from the Start Axxon PSIMUtilities or menu → PSIM or from the folder <Axxon PSIM installation directory>\ToolsTools64 folder). Execute Update the database update.

  2. If the DB update is being executed performed with errors, run the SQL Server Management Studio utility (from the Start menu→ Microsoft SQL Server 2014) and check the connection to DB with the same parameters that are specified in the idb.exe connection string.
