To assign a role to the computer in the distributed system, do the following:

  1. Go to the Hardware tab (1) of the System settings window.

  2. Select the Computer object (2) corresponding to the client.
  3. Set the Use as client checkbox (3).
  4. Click the Apply button.

The role of the computer in the distributed system is displayed in the object tree in the following way:

  • The current server that operates locally is highlighted in green.
  • Clients are highlighted in blue.
  • Other remote servers in the system are highlighted in black.

  • Image Added—Highlights the server, which is operated locally at the current time.
  • Image Added—Highlights the remote client.
  • Image Added—Highlights other remote servers/remote administrator’s workstations in the system.

In case the connection is lost between the administration server and the server, the remote administrator’s workstation, or the remote client, the Computer object is highlighted on the object tree by the Image Added icon.

The most obvious reasons for the connection loss are the Axxon PSIM inoperability on the server, the remote administrator’s workstation, or the remote client, network disconnection, the incorrect database synchronization settings, wrong network name. Before you continue configuring the video surveillance system, you must determine and eliminate the reasons for the connection loss between the server, the remote administrator’s workstation, or the remote client with the administration server and try to connect again.

Assigning a role to the computer in the distributed system is complete.
