When using you use the smart search in the archive, the VMDA metadata storage database is created and configured (see Creating and configuring VMDA metadata storage).
The size of the VMDA metadata storage database depends on the frame rate, minimal minimum and maximal maximum object size, and tracker sensitivity: the higher the frame rate and the larger the object size, the more disk space is needed for storage.
If the record recording is performed 24 hours a day, it's possible to you can use the following formula to estimate the disk space required to store the object tracks metadata database:
DB VMDA Metadata database (GbGB) = 0,5Gb .5 GB * (Number of cameras) * (Number of days)
