General information
Video and audio streams are recorded to an archive synchronously.
You can configure recording to the an archive both for one video camera , and for several cameras, using the same parameters.
Configuring recording to an archive for a camera
To configure recording to the an archive of for one video camera, do the following:
- Go to the Archive tab.
- Select the new
- created archive. Select the check box that corresponds
- Set the checkbox next to the camera for which you want to configure archive recording (1)
- the recording to an archive.
- From the Constant recording list, select the archive recording mode (2)
- mode for recording to an archive.
- If you select No
is selected - ,
the - a video stream
will be - is recorded to
the - an archive only when an operator manually initiates an alarm or an automatic rule is
initiated- run.
- If you select Always
is selected- , a video
will be - stream is constantly recorded to
the - an archive
non-stop- .
- If you select a time schedule
is selected - (
see - see Configuring schedules), a video
will be recorded non-stop to the archive during - stream is constantly recorded to an archive within the selected time
period- schedule. Recording to
the - an archive can also be initiated by the operator or an automatic rule.
In the Depth, days
fieldfield, specify
a video footage retention time value for the maximum archive depth of the given camera
(in days
).
Zero value means unlimited retentionIf you set the 0 value, archive depth is unlimited. As a result, the archive will only contain recordings within the specified depth. The recordings that are outside of the specified archive depth are unavailable for viewing.
Note title Attention! - If
your footage archive includes videos from - you set an unlimited archive depth for one or
more - several cameras
with unlimited retention- ,
the archive will run out of free space - at some point the archive becomes full, and FIFO based re-recording is automatically started—the oldest recordings in the archive will be
automatically started regardless of retention time settings- replaced with the new ones, regardless of the depth setting. In this case,
we cannot guarantee that the actual retention time settings will be preserved - the set archive depth for other cameras cannot be maintained and can be reduced.
- Therefore, if you set an unlimited
retention time - archive depth for at least one camera,
you may find it pointless to limit retention time - limiting the archive depth for other cameras
.To avoid retention time collisions between cameras, please make sure to provide enough storage capacity for your footage - is unnecessary.
- When you configure the archive depth for each camera, we recommend calculating the storage size of an archive (see Disk storage subsystem requirements)
. - to avoid situations when an archive is stored for fewer days than specified.
- When you specify the archive depth
- for a particular camera
archive- ,
please - note that
global retention time limits have higher priority - the priority of the total archive depth is higher (see Configuring access restrictions to
older footage- If the archive depth of a camera is 20 days and the total archive depth is 10 days, the archive depth of a camera won't exceed 10 days.
- Later, if you change the available archive depth of a camera upwards or to 0, the setting will apply only to new recordings. Earlier recordings outside the initial archive depth don't become available
If your entire archive is set to, say, 10 days, and the camera retention time is set to 20 days, camera footage will be actually retained for 10 days only- .
In the Prerecord, sec
field (4)field, enter the
buffering prerecord time in seconds of
the a video stream
from the camera in seconds. This value
should must be in the range [0; 30].
infoNote title Attention! - Prerecord is a period of prerecording that is added to the beginning of an alarm event recording.
- If recording to an archive is initiated by a macro, the prerecord time can be longer, according to
your - the specified settings (see
Record - If it is necessary to use decimation when recording to the archive, select the required value from the Recording frame rate list:
- By keyframes
from Recording frame key only - (
5,- for all video streams except MJPEG)
or 1/0,5/0,25 FPM (frames per minute). - ;
- 1 frame per 240/120/60/30/20 seconds;
Info title Note - Recording frame rate 1 frame per 30 seconds is available starting with Axxon One 2.0.12.
- Recording frame rate 1 frame per 20 seconds is available starting with Axxon One 2.0.14.
- specific value of frames per second (for MJPEG video stream).
Decimation reduces the size of
the - an archive, but
the - a video
will be - is less "smooth".
Select In the Camera stream parameter, select a stream for
archive recording (6)recording to an archive.
Info title Note This setting is relevant for cameras that support multistreaming.
- Click the Apply button.

Further, if you are increasing the available archive retention time, or setting the parameter to 0, please note that this setting may be not applied to earlier records. Older footage falling outside the initial retention time may become inaccessible. |
