The Abandoned object detection can operate detector operates only with the Object tracker detection tooldetector. If the requirements for the Object tracker are met (see Video stream and scene requirements for the Object tracker and its sub-detectors, Image requirements for the Object tracker and its sub-detectors), the following performance parameters of the Abandoned object detector are guaranteed: - Of 100 abandoned objects, the detector detects 92 objects.
- Of 100 events, 80 events are due to actual abandoned objects, and 20 events are due to other changes in the observed scene.
|
Before you create and configure the Abandoned object detection detector, do the following:
- Create the Object tracker
detection tool - detector and set its general parameters (see Configuring the Object
Tracker- tracker).
- Configure some parameters of the Object
Tracker detection tool - tracker detector as follows:
| Parameter | Value | Description |
|---|
| Auto sensitivity | Yes | If auto sensitivity is enabled, sensitivity adjustments for moving and abandoned objects are not applied. To apply manual sensitivity adjustments, it is necessary to disable the auto sensitivity |
| Long-time abandoned object detection | Yes | If you enable this and the Enable filter parameter (see Configuring the Object |
Tracker| tracker), it can reduce the number of false positives during detection |
| Abandoned object detection | Yes | Objects abandoned for 10 seconds or longer will be detected |
| Alarm on object's max. idle time in area | 60 | Specify the time in seconds—if the object remains idle for the time longer than the specified, it will be detected. This value |
should must be in the range [15, 1800]. | Info |
|---|
| This parameter is used only for the Long-time abandoned object detection. It is recommended to select the parameter value starting from 15. |
|
| Abandoned object detection sensitivity | 20 | For this parameter to work, it is necessary to first disable the Auto sensitivity parameter. Set the sensitivity for abandoned object |
detection detector and long-time abandoned object detection in the range [1, 100]. | Info |
|---|
| This parameter depends on the lighting conditions and |
|
should must be chosen empirically. It is recommended to select the parameter value starting from 20. |
|
- Save the
detection tool - detector parameters by clicking the Apply
Image Removed -
Image Added button.
To create the Abandoned object detection detector, below the Object Tracker detection tooltracker detector, click Create... → Abandoned Object.
By default, the detection tool detector is enabled and set to detect brought and abandoned objects.
If necessary, you can change the detection tool detector parameters. The list of parameters is given in the table:

| Maximum object height | 100 | Set the maximum height of the object that |
should trigger the detection tool, must generate an event from the detector as a percentage of the frame size. The value |
should must be in the range [0.05, 100] |
| Maximum object width | 100 | Set the maximum width of the object that |
should trigger the detection tool, | must generate an event from the detector as a percentage of the frame size. The value |
should | must be in the range [0.05, 100] |
| Minimum object height | 0,1 | Set the minimum height of the object that |
should trigger the detection tool, | must generate an event from the detector as a percentage of the frame size. The value |
should | must be in the range [0.05, 100] |
| Minimum object width | 0,1 | Set the minimum width of the object that |
should trigger the detection tool, | must generate an event from the detector as a percentage of the frame size. The value |

By default, the entire frame is a detection area. If If necessary, in the preview window, set detection areas with the help of anchor points
Image Removed you can reduce the detection area (see Configuring a detection area) and/or set one or more ignore areas (see Configuring the Detection Zoneignore area).
