Purpose of Axxon PSIM integration with FSA/ACS/PSS device

Provide user interface on the same software in the context of different security equipment subsystems.
Configure cause-and-effect connection between different subsystems (video surveillance, FSA, ACS, audio registration, etc.and so on).
Use network capability of the software.
Joint marketing promotion of integrated solution by software and hardware manufacturers.

Ways of integration:

Low-level protocol. The system developer presented events, reactions and equipment connection commands as the byte set, so the equipment can be directly connected to Axxon PSIM.
SDK—Software Development Kit. The system developer presented SDK, so the equipment can be directly connected to Axxon PSIM.
Communication server (Program-driver). The system developer presented own driver (program layer between AxxonSoft software and hardware in which events, reactions, configuration commands and state request are built in) in order to connect the equipment. Install the third-party software and configure its interaction with Axxon PSIM in order to connect the equipment to Axxon PSIM. COM-server and OPC-server are examples of such programs.
API—Application Programming Interface. The system developer presented an API for working with equipment through the built-in Web server, so the equipment can be directly connected to Axxon PSIM.

SOFT-SOFT. The system developer presented an API for using its commands in Axxon PSIM and vice versa in order to connect the equipment. Install the full version of third-party software and configure its interaction with Axxon PSIM in order to connect the equipment to Axxon PSIM. Database synchronization is a way of SOFT-SOFT integration on the level of joint using of one database by two software packages, e.g. to access the event log.

Hardware connection interface is not specified for soft-soft integrations because ACFA PSIM connects with 3d party software and not with the devices directly. Please contact the 3d party software vendor in order to get information about the hardware connection interface.

Universal protocol integration: OPC, SNMP, BACnet, and Modbus. OPC and BACnet are industry standards. The system developer makes OPS-server and BACnet-server implementation for its devices and sends data over OPC or BACnet protocols. Axxon PSIM is the client for such servers and it gets data (events, reactions, configuration commands, etc.). SNMP is a network protocol used to monitor some devices. The list of some hardware connected to Axxon PSIM over universal protocols is specified in the Systems connected by universal protocols section.
Drivers Pack. An equipment was integrated using one of the above methods via Axxon Drivers Pack. When using this integration method, it is necessary to install not only ACFA PSIM, but also the Drivers Pack (version 3.49 and higher).

In order to connect the equipment to ACFA PSIM, you must install the full version of the third-party software and configure its interaction with ACFA PSIM. Database synchronization is a variant of SOFT-SOFT type of integration at the level of sharing one database between two software, for example, for access to Event Viewer

Generic protocol

Generic protocol integration:

OPC and BACnet are industry standards. System developer makes OPC server or BACnet server implementation for their devices and transfers data via OPC or BACnet protocol. ACFA PSIM is a client of such servers and receives data (events, reactions, configuration commands, and so on);
SNMP is a network protocol, which allows monitoring of some devices;
Modbus is a communication protocol, which allows devices to communicate with each other, exchange data and commands. You can use it to monitor and control various devices such as sensors, actuating devices and controllers

Drivers Pack

Integration by one of the above methods via Drivers Pack. When you use this type of integration, you must install ACFA PSIM and Drivers Pack (version 3.49 and higher) to work with the equipment

Axxon PSIM Access Control Service (WIN-PAK Main Object), per system – to be included on a mandatory basis, as it allows creating the WIN-PAK Main Object in ACFA PSIM tree.
Axxon PSIM Access Control Service (WIN-PAK Card Reader), per reader – is included if readers are in use, the number of positions in the order shall be equal to the number of entrances.
Axxon PSIM Access Control Service (WIN-PAK Input), per package – is included if alarm inputs are in use; the position allows the use of 16 inputs in ACFA PSIM, e.g. add 2 positions for 24 inputs
