Some devices, including those that are connected via the ONVIF protocol and the Hikvision IP device, connect to Axxon PSIM via the HTTP protocol and use this protocol to transmit settings, PTZ control, and so on, but at the same time they transmit video, sound, and metadata via the RTSP protocol. In this case, by default, the RTSP port from which the device transmits certain data is reported by the IP device itself in response to the HTTP request from Axxon PSIM. For information about the necessity of using the RTSP port, refer to the documentation of the IP device vendor.

However, if the IP device is behind NAT, the RTSP port returned by the device may not be correct.

In this case, after you create and configure the Video capture device object (see Configuring video acquisition from IP devices or Connecting devices via the ONVIF protocol), you must specify the RTSP port from which Axxon PSIM must request data in the RTSP field on the settings panel of the created object:

Example

For example, the ONVIF device is on the local network and has the 192.168.1.53 IP address, the 80 HTTP port, and the 554 RTSP port.

At the same time, the device is brought to the global network through NAT, and Axxon PSIM connects to the device using the 85.172.174.48 IP address, 8084 HTTP port, and 5554 RTSP port.
