To collect the information using the Support.exe utility, do the following:

  1. Start the Support.exe utility (see Starting and shutting down the Support.exe utility).
  2. If necessary, set the dump and log files collection parameters:

    1. In the Collect dump-files for the last ___ days field (1), specify the time period in days during which the dump files must be included in the data package for the technical support.
    2. In the Collect log-files for the last ___ days field (2), specify the time period in days during which the log files must be included in the data package for the technical support.
  3. By default, all available system information is collected. If necessary, you can clear the checkboxes next to those information collection steps that you want to skip (3). If you clear the checkbox, the information at the corresponding step isn't collected.
Some stages of information collection are mutually exclusive, for example, you cannot simultaneously set the Creating an archive copy of the MS SQL Sever database and the Creating the archive copy of the DB without the protocols checkboxes.
Also, you cannot exclude some steps, including Compressing files and Removing temporary files.
  4. Click the Collect button (4).

As a result, the process of information collection starts. You cannot add or remove steps during the collection process.

After the process is complete, the Status column (5) displays the result of information collection on each step, while the information messages field displays the link—path to the folder where the support_[date]_[time].7z generated file is stored (6).

Follow the Open folder with file support_[date]_[time].7z link to view the support_[date]_[time].7z archive.
The archive is saved in the C:\Users\%current user name%\Documents\Support\ folder.
