General information

Axxon One can work in the virtualization environment. The use of virtual machines allows for centralization of hardware resources, simplifying deployment and system administration. However, you must consider limitations and requirements described below.

Supported hypervisors

Axxon One has been tested and is guaranteed to work on the following virtualization platforms (including all current versions):

  • Oracle VirtualBox.
  • VMware (Workstation, ESXi, and others).
  • Microsoft Hyper-V.

Attention!

The operating system installed on the virtual machine must meet the general requirements (see Operating system requirements).

Requirements for virtual machine configuration

For the client (graphical interface) to work correctly, you must enable hardware acceleration of 3D graphics.

Hypervisor

Parameter
VirtualBoxEnable 3D acceleration in the display settings
VMwareEnable 3D graphics acceleration in the virtual machine settings
Hyper-VUse RemoteFX or Discrete Device Assignment (DDA) to pass through graphics resources (depending on OS version and configuration)

Limitations and recommendations

  • You cannot pass through a Guardant USB key to Hyper-V using standard tools. We recommend using third-party utilities that support USB device passthrough over the network, such as USB Network Gate. This allows you to redirect the key from the physical host to the virtual machine.
  • To achieve maximum performance, use the Platform Calculator with a margin for virtualization.
  • When you use Hyper-V, we recommend you disable dynamic memory and determine the amount of RAM allocated to the virtual machine.
  • You must configure network adapters in Bridge mode to provide direct access to the physical network.
