Several programs allow editing the system registry. The regedit.exe utility is included in the standard set of Windows service programs.

To start the editor, do the following:

1. Open the Run dialog box by clicking Start, then Run, or by pressing WIN+R keys on the keyboard.
   
2. Enter “regedit” in the Open field of the dialog box.
3. Click OK.

The registry editor window will open.

To close the registry editor, click the  button, or select Exit from File menu.
