Axxon One features: reference information

Axxon One has an embedded ONVIF server that you can use to add Axxon One as a video recorder to other software (for example, Onvif Device Manager (ODM) or Happytimesoft).

The ONVIF server doesn't support the use of cameras with the MJPEG codec. To work with the ONVIF server, you must change the codec of the camera.

To configure the ONVIF server, do the following:

  1. Install Axxon One together with DriverPack 3.74 and later.

  2. Stop the server (see Stop the server).
  3. Create the NGP_ONVIFSERVER_ENDPOINT system variable (see Creating system variable). In the Variable value field, enter the IP address of the Axxon One local server.

  4. Start the server (see Start the server).
  5. In the software (for example, Happytimesoft), add the Axxon One server as a device using the 8081 port.

You can set or change the port of the ONVIF server in the Axxon One client on the Devices tab → server name → the ONVIF server port parameter (see Server. The default value is 8081). You must use a unique port for each node.

The configuration of the ONVIF server is complete. The software will broadcast the video image from Axxon One in real time.

You can also add the ONVIF server to another Axxon One server as an ONVIF generic IP device (see Searching, adding, configuring, and removing IP devices).

The ONVIF server is added to the configuration as an IP server (see The IP server object) with corresponding cameras.
