To collect the information using the Support.exe utility, do the following:
- Start the Support.exe utility (see Starting and shutting down the Support.exe utility).
If necessary, set the dump and log files collection parameters:
- In the Collect dump-files for the last ___ days field (1), specify the number of days for which time period in days during which the dump files are to must be included into in the data set package for the technical support (1).
- In the Collect log-files for the last ___ days field (2), specify the number of days for which time period in days during which the log files are to be collected into must be included in the data set package for the technical support (2).
- By default, all available system information is collected. If necessary, uncheck you can clear the boxes checkboxes next to the those information collection steps that should be skipped you want to skip (3). If uncheckedyou clear the checkbox, the information is not collected at the corresponding step isn't collected.
Some stages of information collection are mutually exclusive, for example, you cannot simultaneously select set the Creating an archive copy of the MS SQL Sever database and and the Creating the archive copy of the DB without the protocols checkboxes.
Some steps cannot be excludedAlso, you cannot exclude some steps, including Compressing files and Removing temporary files. - Click the Collect button (4).
As a result, the process of information collection starts. You cannot add or remove steps during the collection process.
After the process is complete, the Status column (5) displays The data collection process will start. Upon completion, the result of information gathering collection on each step is displayed in the Status column (5), while the information area will show the link to the newly generated file – support.7z messages field displays the link—path to the folder where the support_[date]_[time].7z generated file is stored (6).

The archive is saved in the C:\Users\%current user name%\Documents\Support\ folder.
