If you install Axxon PSIM on a computer where an earlier version is used, then the installation will be is performed in the updating update mode.

Important to know before updating you update Axxon PSIM:

  1. Before updatingyou update, we recommend you to back up all databases that you use—see Creating the database backup copy. Also, copy and save the psim.sec license file (located in the root of the Axxon PSIM installation directory, by default: C:\Program Files/Axxon PSIM).
  2. Axxon PSIM can be updated if there is a difference in the third digit of the version number and the first two digits are the same. If the first and/or second digits are different, you must reinstall Axxon PSIM instead instead of updating, i.e. , that is, uninstall the previous version and install the new one.
    Examples:
    1. you You can update from version 1.0.1 to version 1.0.2;.
    2. you You cannot update from version 1.0.1 to 1.2.0, you ; you need to reinstall.
  3. Before starting the update, you must stop Axxon PSIM  must be uploaded, if it is running.
  4. You must run the update as a Windows Administratoradministrator.
  5. When you update Axxon PSIM on the Server server or Remote Administrator’s remote administrator’s workstation, you should must also update Axxon PSIM on Remote Clientthe remote client. The compatible versions of Axxon PSIM should must be installed on Remote Clients remote clients and on Server/Remote Administrator’s workstation, i.e. the server/remote administrator’s workstation, that is, the first two digits of the version number should must be the same (e.g. versions 1for example, versions 2.1 and 12.2 aren't compatible, but versions 12.0.1 and 12.0.3 are compatible).
  6. To update Axxon PSIM 1.0 to Axxon PSIM 2.0, please contact technical support.

To update Axxon PSIM, do the following:

  1. Unpack the installation kit as described in Getting ready for Axxon PSIM installation. The destination folder will show the contents of the kit.

  2. Run the setup.exe file to start the the Axxon PSIM installation procedure installation process.
    As a result, a window for choosing the Installation wizard language will be is displayed.
  3. Choose the language of theInstallation wizard and click the Install button.

    As a result, the Type of installation window will be displayedopens.
  4. Choose the type of installation needed.

  5. To log all installation events, set the Enable full installation log (increases product installation time) checkbox.

  7. Set the checkboxes next to the components that you want to install.

    During the installation process, you will be prompted to remove the installed vertical solutions:

  9. Click the Next button.
    The window for selecting the type of update will be displayedopens.

  10. Select one of the suggested types of update. The types of update updates are described in the table below:

  11. Click the Next button.
    When the system is configured, installation of Axxon PSIM starts.

  13. Click the Finish button.
