You can create the Sensor system object on the basis of the Video capture device object.

You can create and configure the Sensor object in the following order:

  1. Go to the Hardware tab (1) on the settings panel of Axxon PSIM.
  2. On the basis of the Video capture device object, create the Sensor system object or select the corresponding object in the object tree in the Hardware tab on the settings panel of Axxon PSIM (2).
  3. Specify the ID and name of the Sensor object and select the Video capture device object on the basis of which you want to create the Sensor object (3).

    Note

If the sensor-relay card is used, then specify that video capture card with ADC to which the sensor-relay card is connected.

  4. Select the channel number matching the number of output connector to which the sensor is connected (4).

  5. In the group of switches, select the alarm mode of the sensor: at switch on or at switch off. By default, the alarm at switch on mode is selected (5).
The actuating device corresponding to the Sensor system object operates in one of the two modes: alarm at switch on or alarm at switch off.

    Note

Sensors connected to Panasonic IP devices of the i-Pro series generate alarms only at switch off.

When you select the alarm at switch off mode, the normal state of the sensor is open. When the sensor closes, it triggers, and as a result, the actions specified in Axxon PSIM are performed.

    Note

You can change the action at switch off or switch on for the Sensor actuator using the parameter of the SupportOldRayLogic key of the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\AxxonSoft\PSIM\Video (see Registry keys reference guide).

  6. In the Detector drop-down list (6), select the type of actuating device used as the detector on the protected facility.
The Detector parameter is used for selecting the icon on the interactive map. This parameter is essential for better perception of information displayed on the map as object icons by the operator and for prompt operator intervention if necessary.

  7. Types of detectors available for the Sensor system object are given in the table.

    Detector

    Description

    Infrared

Icon on the interactive map for the motion detectors

    Ceiling

Icon on the interactive map for the device installed on the ceiling on the protected facility

    Glass

Icon on the interactive map for the device installed on the window of the protected facility and responding when the window is broken

    Heat

Icon on the interactive map for the device responding to changes of heat conditions on the protected facility

    Window

Icon on the interactive map for the device installed some distance away from the window and responding when the window is broken

    Smoke

Icon on the interactive map for the device responding to smoke on the protected facility

    Reed switch

Icon on the interactive map for the device responding to locking/unlocking a window, door, and others

  8. Click the Apply button to save the changes.

After you create the sensor, it is in the "Armed" state. To change the sensor state, use a macro (see Creating and using macros) or control the sensor on the map (see Configuring the interactive map for object state indication and controlling the objects and Operations with sensors). If the sensor is armed, then at the sensor switching on/off the "Alarm" event is generated depending on the alarm mode setting—see step 5 above. If the sensor is disarmed, the "Closed"/"Opened" events are generated, respectively.

Note

Axxon PSIM requests sensor state three times per second. Short-term triggerings that last for less than 1/3 of a second can be skipped.

Creation and configuration of the Sensor system object is complete.
